The Franklin Process in Practice

Case Studies

How our methodology shaped the investigations that mattered most.

The following case studies trace the application of the Franklin Process to specific pieces of reporting and analysis. They are offered not as self-congratulation, but as transparency — a record of how we think, where we struggled, and what we learned.

Beyond Meat: Temporary Obstacle or Structural Demand Failure?

A fully worked Agnostitian case study — ten steps from neutralizing the question through motivation scoring, evidence ranking, and a final conclusion with stated confidence and reversal conditions.

The Process

The case applies all ten Franklin Process steps to a live commercial question: SEC filings, retail category data, third-party LCAs, and competitor rhetoric are each ranked by evidence hierarchy and tested for source motivation before any conclusion is drawn.

The Outcome

The evidence supports a structural consumer-adoption problem compounded by execution and macroeconomic pressure — not merely a communications failure. Environmental LCA findings are preserved as a separate, valid conclusion.
